4 months
After you pay, your application is formally examined which takes up to 4 months. If there are any problems, you’ll be given 15 months to overcome them.

Up to 5 months
If there are no problems your application enters a waiting period to comply with international agreements. The final step is a 2 month 'opposition period'. Anyone can oppose your trade mark if they have a legitimate reason (only a small percentage are opposed).
If no-one opposes your trade mark, it will be registered. Initial registration lasts 10 years from the date you paid your lodgement fee.
